We are one global team, and we achieve better results together.\nAbout the role\nAs an Application Engineer, you will drive the technical development of customer application projects, from concept to series production, with responsibility for functionality and product quality.\nYou will work closely with customers to translate their requirements into technical solutions, balancing performance, cost, quality, and manufacturability. You will collaborate across functions with Production, Project Management, and global specialist teams.\nThe role also includes product improvements for components already in series production, with a focus on quality and cost.\nBased in Mj\u00e4llby, Sweden, you will be part of the R&D organization and report to the Application Engineering Director.\nYour responsibilities\nAs an Application Engineer, you will:\nDrive technical development, including design and validation, for one or several projects from concept to series production.\nCreate and manage technical documentation, including CAD 3D\/2D, BOM, DVP&R, DFMEA, and related documentation.\nPerform thermal performance calculations for product definition and validation.\nWork with global CAE teams to define and coordinate analysis and simulation needs.\nCoordinate engineering changes across functions through Engineering Change Management.\nCollaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure solutions meet technical, quality, cost, and manufacturing requirements.\nContribute to continuous improvement of products already in series production.\n\nYour profile\nWe're looking for a proactive and solution-oriented engineer who enjoys taking ownership and driving technical development forward.\nTo succeed in this role, you have:\nA degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.\nPreferably at least 3 years of experience in product development.\nSolid understanding of engineering design and product development processes.\nExperience with CAD and 3D modelling, preferably CATIA V5 or similar.\nKnowledge of engineering drawings and GD&T.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.\n\nYou are structured, communicative, and comfortable making decisions based on data and engineering judgment. You enjoy working cross-functionally and are able to make progress even when not all information is available from the outset.\nConsidered as a plus\nKnowledge of heat transfer, structural analysis, or vibration.\nExperience with CFD\/FEA or other simulation-driven development.\nExperience working in global development teams.\nExperience from the automotive industry, preferably within heavy-duty applications.\n\nWhat we offer\nWe describe our working environment as international, empowering, multicultural, fast-paced, and collaborative.
