Advanced Home Health Care (ASIH) and the palliative care ward provide specialized palliative care. The service is under continuous development and the two units work closely together. ASIH consists mainly of three teams serving enrolled patients, but also includes an outpatient team and a consultation team. The palliative care ward is an inpatient unit providing advanced end-of-life care.\nPatient needs guide visits, and we work both independently and in teams. Our interdisciplinary team consists of physicians, nurses, social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nursing assistants, dietitians, and medical secretaries.\n\nThe shared rehabilitation team currently consists of three occupational therapists, three physiotherapists, and three social workers. We are seeking someone interested in placement at both ASIH and the palliative care ward in Malm\u00f6, where you will be placed in one of the ASIH teams working with patients enrolled in home care, with part of your position at the ward.\nAs an occupational therapist, you will also be part of a well-functioning Scania-wide network within Palliative Care and ASIH in Scania with regular meetings, both on-site and digitally.\n\n1 position(s).\n\nDUTIES\nThe primary goal of palliative care is to relieve and support when disease is incurable. Focus is on alleviating physical pain and offering psychological, social, and existential support to patients and their loved ones. The care aims to help the patient achieve the best possible quality of life at the end of life while neither hastening nor postponing death.\n\nWorking within Palliative Care and ASIH in Malm\u00f6 means working person-centered and contributing to creating security in difficult life situations for all our enrolled patients. You meet the patient, listen carefully, and work based on existing conditions with the patient's goals in focus.\n\nOccupational therapists assess functional and activity capacity, but most importantly focus on enabling and facilitating meaningful activities that enhance quality of life for our patients. Collaboration regarding assistive device needs occurs with municipal prescribers.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\nYou are a licensed occupational therapist with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. Swedish language proficiency at minimum level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale is required. Additionally, you must have a valid B driver's license. Experience working with seriously ill patients is meritorious. Since both our electronic health record system and planning tool are digital, it is important that you are comfortable using computers. Further, training in areas such as soft massage, Mediyoga, or Basal body awareness is meritorious.\n\nWe believe you have a genuine interest in palliative care, strong ability to focus on patient needs and prioritize among tasks.
