In addition to Arvika's station, there are three part-time stations staffed by RiB personnel in Glava, Edane, and Gunnarskog.\n\nAs a firefighter on standby with us, you will work preventatively to reduce damage and accidents, and you will contribute to a safer and better everyday life for our citizens. Should an accident occur, you will be part of the response team.\nWork Tasks\nYou will normally be on standby as a firefighter every fourth week, though standby times can vary. During standby, you are ready to immediately proceed to the fire station when an alarm sounds to join the response team. You have a five-minute response time. This means you must live and work within five minutes' distance from the fire station in Edane.\nThe position includes all typical firefighting tasks, including driving emergency vehicles, participating in rescue operations, and training exercises. Exercises are conducted in the evenings and amount to approximately 60 hours per year.\nQualifications\nYou have upper secondary school education, and it is advantageous if you have completed one of MSB's courses such as Protection Against Disasters, Grib, or Rib.\nWe appreciate if you as a person can remain calm and work easily with others. You should have good problem-solving abilities, both independently and in groups. To succeed in the role, you need to be able to swim and hold a B driving license, and it is advantageous if you also have B96 and C driving licenses. You have good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.\nIn the role, good physical and good mental health are important.\nConditions\nYour regular employer must approve that you can leave your workplace when an alarm sounds.\nUpon employment, you must complete training that is conducted at one of MSB's schools.
