The position is laboratory-based and operations-focused, suited for someone who wants to use their scientific expertise to develop robust and quality-assured methods for research services and clinical diagnostics. A particular development area is liquid biopsy and analysis of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), where we are working to develop new methods for clinical use.\nYou will independently plan and conduct genomic projects within our research services and lead method development projects with the aim of creating robust, standardized, and quality-assured workflows. The work includes the entire chain from project planning and experimental design to practical laboratory work, optimization, validation, documentation, reporting, and handover to diagnostics.\nYou are expected to contribute scientific expertise in method development and implementation of new NGS-based analyses and be an active driver in the development of new research projects and genomic methods. The work takes place in close collaboration with researchers, clinicians, bioinformaticians, and other colleagues within Clinical Genomics, but you are responsible for planning, prioritizing, and advancing your projects.\nQualifications\nWe are looking for someone who has:\na PhD in molecular biology, biomedicine, or another relevant field\ndocumented experience with laboratory NGS work\nexperience in method development in cancer genomics\ngood ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing\n\nIt is meritorious if you have experience with:\nwork in a quality-assured laboratory operation, according to ISO 15189 or equivalent\nexperience validating and implementing molecular genetic or NGS-based methods in clinical operations\nautomated laboratory workflows\nexperience with liquid biopsy, ctDNA, or other analyses of low-frequency genetic variants\ncollaboration with bioinformaticians and clinical specialists\nproject management or coordination of cross-professional development projects\n\nIt is important that you enjoy practical and operations-focused method development work.
