Here, approximately 46,000 students and 8,500 employees work in Lund, Helsingborg, and Malm\u00f6. We are united in our mission to understand, explain, and improve our world and people's living conditions.\nDescription of the Workplace\nThis position is affiliated with the Division of Solid State Physics at the Department of Physics, a division with approximately 100 employees conducting extensive research centered on various aspects of nano- and semiconductor physics, ranging from materials science to bio- and quantum physics with various applications. The division is a central part of NanoLund, Lund University's major interdisciplinary research center for nanoscience and nanotechnology. The division also operates Lund Nano Lab, a central and shared facility for fabrication of materials and components at the nanoscale. The division is also strongly committed to undergraduate education, particularly within the civil engineering program \"Technical Nanoscience\" at LTH.\nYou will join a research group conducting experimental research in topological quantum electronics. Our goal is to develop new quantum components, including quantum bits (qubits), by exploiting electron correlations and topology in two-dimensional materials. We offer a friendly and collaborative research environment that encourages creative thinking and ambitious research that goes beyond today's state-of-the-art.\nBeing a PhD Student\nAs a PhD student, you are both enrolled as a student and employed at Lund University.\nAs a research student, you will be trained in a scientific approach. This can briefly be described as gaining practice in critical and analytical thinking, solving problems independently using appropriate methodological choices, and developing research ethics awareness. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work on projects, develop your leadership skills, and enhance your teaching abilities. Throughout your studies, you will be guided by an advisor. Research studies conclude with a dissertation and a doctoral degree.\nLearn more about being a PhD student at LTH on lth.se.\nProject Description\nThis PhD project focuses on DC characterization and investigation at microwave frequencies of anyonic excitations in graphene-based quantum components.\nThe PhD student will fabricate ultra-high-quality van der Waals heterostructures at Lund Nano Lab and study them using electronic measurements and microwave measurements at low temperatures. The PhD student will also contribute to establishing a new experimental laboratory, including infrastructure for van der Waals component fabrication and installation of a dilution refrigerator reaching temperatures below 10 mK, equipped with a 14 T magnet and connections for both DC and radiofrequency measurements.\nThe position provides extensive practical experience in nanofabrication, cryogenic measurement techniques, microwave electronics, data analysis, and quantum component physics. The PhD student will be an important part of a collaborative research team and will collaborate with research groups at Lund University and leading international institutions. The project combines fundamental quantum physics with a technology-oriented approach to develop new types of nanoelectronic and quantum components.\nResponsibilities\nYou will primarily dedicate yourself to your doctoral research, which includes participation in research projects, doctoral courses, seminars, and conferences. The goal of the doctoral project is to build anyon arrays and use them as qubits. You will work both independently and in close collaboration with other partners in the project.\nResponsibilities include:\nFabrication of components in a clean room environment at Lund Nano Lab.\nTransport and high-frequency microwave measurements, including programming of measurement scripts.\nAnalysis of measurement results to understand how components function and to design new components.\nWriting and publishing scientific papers on the results and presenting them at conferences.\nUse, maintenance, and development of equipment in the measurement laboratories, including installation of a dilution refrigerator.\nResponsibilities also include participation in teaching and other departmental work (however, maximum 20% of working time).\n\nRead more about this position at the following link: https:\/\/lu.varbi.com\/what:job\/jobID:953827\/\nWelcome to submit your application!","language":"sv","is_translated":true,"title_original":"Doktorand i fysik med inriktning topologiska kvantkomponenter i 2D-material","description_original":"Lunds universitet grundades 1666 och rankas \u00e5terkommande som ett av v\u00e4rldens fr\u00e4msta l\u00e4ros\u00e4ten.
