The work will include numerical modeling of flow and transport, analysis of uncertainties in model predictions, and development of effective methods to assess their significance for the safety of geological repositories. The methods will be demonstrated under conditions representative of a Swedish repository site, with the goal of improving the robustness and transparency of long-term safety analyses for disposal of radioactive waste.\nQualification Requirements\nEligible for education at the research level is the person who\nhas a master's degree (second cycle) in hydrogeology, hydrology, rock mechanics, geophysics, geotechnics, water engineering, applied mathematics, physics, computer science, or another relevant field,\nhas completed at least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 higher education credits at advanced level including an independent work of at least 15 higher education credits, or\nin some other way has acquired essentially equivalent knowledge.\n\nIn addition to the above eligibility requirements, you must\nhave a solid foundation in mathematics and physics as well as experience in numerical modeling or scientific programming.\nDesirable\/Meriting Qualifications\nKnowledge of flow and transport in soil and rock, fractured media, uncertainty quantification, statistical methods, or machine learning is meriting.\nRegulations for doctoral candidates are found in the Higher Education Ordinance 5 chapter \u00a7\u00a7 1-7 and in the university's rules and guidelines.\nAbout the Position\nThe position is temporary according to the Higher Education Ordinance 5 chapter 7 \u00a7.
