A central goal is to distinguish and quantify the contributions from ions inside the pores versus ions outside the pores, to provide molecular insight into ion\u2013electrode interactions. The project focuses on ionic liquid electrolytes as promising candidates for next-generation energy storage systems. You will study ion transport during charging and discharging in batteries and supercapacitors using advanced NMR methods, complemented by targeted computational modeling. This integrated approach enables identification of the dominant ion transport mechanisms in carbon-based electrodes and supports the development of robust structure\u2013property relationships for high-performance electrochemical components.\nSupervision: Sergey Dvinskikh is proposed as doctoral supervisor. Final decision made upon admission.\nAdmission Requirements\nTo be admitted to doctoral studies (Chapter 7, Section 39 of the Higher Education Ordinance), applicants must have basic eligibility:\nMobility Rules \u2013 Candidates may not have been resident or had their primary activity (work, studies, etc.) in Sweden for more than 12 months during the 3 years immediately preceding the recruitment date.\nCompleted a degree at the advanced level, or\nCompleted coursework of at least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 higher education credits at the advanced level, or\nAcquired substantially equivalent knowledge by other means within or outside the country.\n\nAn appropriate background is a master's degree in Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry, or related disciplines.\nApplicants must not hold a doctoral degree at the time of recruitment.\nIn addition to the above, there is a mandatory requirement of English equivalent to English B\/6.\nSelection\nTo succeed in your doctoral studies at KTH, you need to be goal-oriented and persistent in your work.
