We are seeking people who want to work extra as a companion, respite carer, contact person, or support family. See descriptions of the assignments below:\n\nCompanion\nAs a companion, you help and support a young person or adult with a disability to participate in community life outside their own home and facilitate contact with other people. This could, for example, involve going on walks, visiting the cinema, attending sports events, or going into town. As a companion, you have hourly employment and are compensated per hour based on need.\nIf you want to know more about the Companion role, you are welcome to call the person responsible for these assignments at 0372-789669.\n\nRespite Carer\nIn our respite care service, you work in the home of a child or young person with a disability so that their parents can leave home.\nThe respite carer provides care, social interaction, support with meals, and activities in the home or its surroundings. The purpose of the assignment is to be a companion and friend who promotes social contacts and participation in the community's leisure activities.
