You have the personnel and budgetary responsibility for three units, which include: Facilities and Maintenance, Kitchen staff, and the Security team.\nIn this role, you maintain a strong presence in the day-to-day operations, working closely with both the staff reporting to you and other functions across the school. You focus on developing well-structured, proactive teams that can anticipate needs and minimise delays. In close collaboration with the school's leadership teams, you play a key role in driving effective maintenance planning and ensuring the long-term strategic development of security and safety practices.\nDuties\/Responsibilities\nManaging facilities and operation budgets, ensuring best practices in procurement, cost-effectiveness, and quality.\nProvide strategic leadership for the school's security and safety framework, ensuring that high standards are maintained and continuously strengthened. Proactively assess emerging risks, oversee the development and implementation of effective security measures, and ensure that policies, procedures, systems, and practices remain aligned with the school's evolving needs, regulatory requirements, and recognised best practices.\nCoordinating and overseeing the maintenance plan, including repairs, renovations, and equipment upgrades.\nConducting regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and address any safety concerns.\nDaily operations, including planning and follow-up of the work.\nDeveloping efficient work methods to optimise the school's daily operations.\nEnsuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and standards.\nImplementing sustainable practices to minimise environmental impact and promote energy efficiency.\nStrategic development of security and safety practices and operational resilience.\n\nRequired Qualifications, Attributes and Experience\nGood knowledge of property management\nRelevant higher education or equivalent work experience\nExperience from previous leadership roles\nA category B driving licence\nSeveral years of experience working in similar roles\nExperience in effective energy and sustainability work\nGood computer and system skills\nExperience managing and exposing running contracts to competition\nExperience managing budgets\nExperience developing operational plans for the areas of responsibility\nFluent in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing\n\nAs Facilities and Operations Manager in a school environment, you must enjoy working with people. In daily operations, it is important that we can quickly adapt and handle more urgent matters. You therefore need to have the ability to adapt yourself and your team to changing circumstances, quickly change approaches and priorities, and make decisions. You will share information and provide continuous feedback to the teams while following up and ensuring the work is completed according to the expected quality. You are also reliable and stand by your opinions by seeing the big picture and prioritising the right issues to achieve the organisation's goals.\n\n\nAt Stockholm International School we are committed to protecting children. Aligned with the recommendations of the International Task Force on Child Protection, we hold ourselves to a high standard of effective recruiting practices with specific attention to child protection. All applicants will therefore be required to undergo appropriate child protection screening.
