Below you will find information about the required qualifications, the merit assessment principles applied, and how the appointment process for national ST positions works. Coordination of theoretical goals takes place within the Southern RSATS region. The training follows the National Board of Health and Welfare's regulations and general guidelines on dentists' specialist training.\nAbout You\nYou are a licensed dentist with a strong interest in pediatric dentistry and a desire to develop within the specialty.\nMerit Assessment Principles\nProfessional Experience\nGeneral practice up to 5 years full-time, 1 point per six-month period from year 3 onwards (max 6 points). Part-time service is converted to full-time equivalent. Experience within and\/or outside the country, in both public and private sectors, is meritorious, but the dentist or anyone in a conflict-of-interest position may not certify the experience.\nWithin the specialty up to 1 year full-time, 1 point per six-month period. Service as a teacher within the specialty at a dental faculty\/institution counts toward this. Part-time service is converted to full-time equivalent (max 2 points).\nScientific Merits\n1-2 publications, 1 point per publication (max 2 points). A Licentiate or Doctoral degree provides an additional 1 or 2 points respectively.\nOther\nApplicants who have demonstrated a goal-oriented interest in obtaining specialist qualification within the specified specialty\u2014meaning completed relevant training, including project work and\/or independent development work such as quality projects\u2014are assessed positively.
