For more information about our activities, see our website: www.dbb.su.se.\nProject Description\nThrough its strategic research program Alpha Cell, SciLifeLab will be able to benefit from the combination of advanced artificial intelligence, large collections of molecular data, and cutting-edge imaging techniques to map cells at a molecular scale and develop predictive AI-based cell models.\nDuties\nLead work on developing methods and processes to generate and process high-resolution cell images using advanced imaging methods, including volume electron microscopy and super-resolution microscopy. The role reports to Marta Carroni, one of the program's lead researchers.\nQualifications\nA researcher is employed primarily for research and must have a doctoral degree or possess a foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a doctoral degree.\nAssessment Criteria\nSpecial emphasis will be placed on scientific excellence.\nRequired Qualifications:\nDoctoral degree in biotechnology.\nDocumented experience leading multidisciplinary teams, including strategic planning and responsibility for budget and resource allocation within research projects.\nResearch expertise in microscopy techniques (FIB-SEM) and development or optimization of these methods.\nExperience applying advanced imaging techniques to study ultrastructures of subcellular organelles in cells.\nExperience with collection, management, analysis, and dissemination of large datasets related to light and electron microscopy.\nDocumented experience with development work for image data and machine learning-based analysis methods in research environments as well as development of Open Data platforms.\nVery good English language skills in both spoken and written form, as all communication in the role is conducted in English.\n\nMeritorious:\nPostdoctoral experience in cell biology.\nDocumented experience building and maintaining multidisciplinary research networks.\nExperience developing and applying computational methods and software tools for analysis of biological or biomedical data.\n\nWe are Seeking Someone Who:\nIs flexible and solution-oriented.
