We are an international and dynamic institution, centrally located on the university campus at Frescati, visit the Department of Economics.\n\nJob Duties\nThe Department of Economics at Stockholm University is seeking a full-time research assistant for the period January\u2013August 2027.\n\nThe research assistant will support and collaborate on a series of new and ongoing projects related to political economy. The work encompasses everything from data collection and processing to advanced econometric analysis in research projects with large survey and text databases. The researcher will work closely with Dr. Ferenc Szucs and Dr. Mitch Downey.\n\nThe research assistant will receive mentorship from the research team mentioned above. Research assistants are physically located at the Department of Economics, Stockholm University, and work in close collaboration with the research team. Previous assistants at the Department of Economics, Stockholm University, have gone on to top-ranked doctoral programs in economics.\n\nSpecific job duties:\n- Processing and managing large datasets.\n- Performing statistical and econometric analyses.\n- Writing reports that summarize data analysis.\n- Compiling literature reviews.\n\nQualifications\nRequired:\n- Bachelor's or master's degree in a field that includes significant quantitative coursework, such as a civil engineering degree or a degree in economics or statistics.\n- Strong interest in economics and societal issues.\n- Good written and oral communication skills.\n- Ability to work independently.\n- Good organizational skills.\n\nDesirable:\n- Focus on quantitative analysis.\n- Programming skills in Stata, R, and Python.\n- Experience working with large datasets.\n- Experience working with large language models (e.g., ChatGPT).\n\nWe place great emphasis on personal qualities, including curiosity, attention to detail, willingness to learn, communication skills, and work ethic.\n\nAbout the Position\nThe employment is for full-time work for 8 months starting in January 2027.
