The project is designed according to an action-based research model where we promote the implementation of S\u00e1mi food within a number of municipal administrations.\n\nYour work tasks include:\nassisting in research by conducting literature reviews\nconducting and analyzing interviews and survey responses\nwriting texts for the project and organizing workshops\n\nYour background\nWe are looking for an independent and motivated colleague with prior experience in rural development issues and the S\u00e1mi food system.\n\nFor employment, it is a requirement that you:\nhave written your bachelor's or master's thesis in a social science subject and that it concerns the S\u00e1mi food system and rural development or sustainable development\nhave experience with literature searching\ncan conduct interviews with various types of stakeholders\ncan perform analyses of democratic processes related to power and ethnicity\ncommunicate well in both Swedish and English\n\nIt is advantageous if you have:\nstrong skills in analysis of text, quantitative data, and\/or interviews\nexperience in compiling reports\n\nWe place great emphasis on personal qualities such as:\ngood collaboration skills\nability to work independently and in an organized manner\nmeticulousness\n\nAbout us\nAt the Department of Urban and Rural Development, undergraduate education, doctoral education, research, and collaboration are conducted across five divisions: agrarian history, landscape architecture, rural development, environmental communication, and the division for political science and natural resource management, which includes SIDA's environmental assessment helpdesk. The department also houses the Center for Nature Guidance (CNV). The department is the largest at SLU in the social sciences, humanities, and design. Issues concerning sustainable use of natural resources and landscapes are central to the department's research, teaching, and collaboration. The department employs approximately 160 people.\n\nThe assistant position is within the Rural Development Division. We focus on how ideas about development have material consequences in both the global north (particularly in Sweden and Europe) and the global south. Our research, teaching, and collaboration focus on issues of justice, knowledge, and power in agriculture and forestry, natural resource management, and rural development.
