The preschool is built in wood and characterized by nature, both outdoors and indoors. Educators and children have been involved in the process together with the architect, property owner, municipal gardener, and preschool leadership.\n\nJordgubbsbacken consists of six ground-level departments. The floor plan is optimized for community, collaboration, accessibility, supervision, privacy, and recreation. Older children eat in the restaurant Tallriken, while younger children receive meals delivered to their departments. In the center of the preschool is an atrium that invites creative activities as well as calm and relaxation. The upper level houses staff spaces that contribute to a good work environment and provide excellent conditions for carrying out the preschool teacher role.\n\n Profile and Work Approach\nThe preschool's profile is Health-Promoting Outdoor Environments and Sustainable Development. To plan the outdoor environment, we have drawn knowledge from research projects and collaborated with the municipality's municipal gardener. The outdoor environments offer rich opportunities for discovery where children's curiosity and learning are stimulated. We grow vegetables in raised beds and make use of our harvest. The preschool has a teaching kitchen with an adjoining prep area, allowing us to offer food from farm to table in line with our profile.
