The need currently extends through the end of the year.\nAbout the Position\nAs a freight car repairer, you will work with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of railway wagons. Your tasks will vary from simple corrective maintenance to extensive overhauls where large parts of the wagon are disassembled, refurbished, and reassembled.\nExamples of work tasks:\n\nRepair and maintenance of freight cars\n\n\nReplacement of brake blocks, doors, and other components\n\n\nTroubleshooting and mechanical work\n\n\nOperation of forklifts, loaders, and ground traverses\n\n\nMovement of wagons in the workshop environment\n\n\nWork with tank wagons, including work in confined spaces\n\n\nWork takes place both in the workshop and in the field depending on operational needs.\nWho Are You?\nWe are seeking someone with previous experience working as a freight car repairer or equivalent experience from heavy mechanical industry, vehicle maintenance, or the railway sector.\nTo succeed in this role, we would like to see that you have:\n\nExperience with repair and maintenance of freight cars\n\n\nStrong knowledge of mechanics\n\n\nForklift certification\n\n\nExperience with traverse driving\n\n\nExperience working with heavy vehicles or machinery\n\n\nAbility to read and follow technical instructions\n\nMeritorious:\nHot work certification\n\n\nSafe lifting certification\n\n\nWelding experience\n\n\nExperience from the railway sector\n\n\nExperience working in confined spaces\n\n\nAs a person, you are responsible, safety-conscious, and enjoy collaborating with others.
