The unit's mandate is to ensure the right IT expertise, efficient working methods, and rapid adaptation of SMHI's IT-intensive data production chain to new technology, increased security requirements, and operational needs within weather, water, and climate.\n\nAbout the Position\nAs Group Manager for IT Development Model and Storage, you report to the Head of IT Development. In the management team of IT Development, we consist of one unit manager and four group managers who work as a team according to shared working procedures and goals. You have overall responsibility for the group's work environment, competence development, and coaching. Together with other managers in the unit, you are responsible for strategic planning and finances within the framework established by the system development operations.\n\nEach manager has the opportunity to deepen their knowledge within special areas of expertise such as competence supply methodology, consultant strategy, agile system development, preparedness, or IT security, both for the unit and in some cases for all of SMHI.\n\nSystem development is conducted in self-organizing, cross-functional teams where IT expertise collaborates with scientific experts within weather, water, and climate. In this role, you are responsible for ensuring that the right IT expertise is present in the teams, and for supporting the operations in working to streamline their value streams. The assignment involves close collaboration with other IT units and operations managers.\n\nThe position also includes scheduled on-call availability every 7\u20138 weeks for coordination in the event of IT incidents outside regular working hours.\n\nAbout You\nWe are looking for someone with higher education in IT or equivalent experience that SMHI considers equivalent. You must have at least two years of management experience \u2013 for example as a line manager, project manager, team lead, or similar leadership role.\n\nYou express yourself fluently in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
