Choosing a judicial career means that you will daily contribute to a democratic and legally secure society where you work to ensure everyone's right to have their case heard in an independent and impartial court.\nAbout the Position\nThe training service normally spans four years and begins with one year of service as a Court of Appeals Fiscal. As a Court of Appeals Fiscal, you will present cases and prepare proposed judgments and decisions, and keep minutes at main hearings.\nAfter this, you serve as a District Court Fiscal for two years at one of the district courts within the Court of Appeals' jurisdiction. As a District Court Fiscal, you handle and judge cases and matters, both independently and together with other judges at the district court. During this service, you typically also mentor notaries.\nFollowing your district court service, you return to the Court of Appeals for one year of adjunct service. You serve as a member and participate in collegial judging.\nThroughout your entire training service, you receive guidance from experienced, permanent judges and participate in a theoretical training program provided by the Court Academy. In addition, we offer a number of internal training sessions and study visits.\nAfter completing and passing your adjunct year, you receive employment as a Court of Appeals Assessor and your special judge training is complete.\nQualifications\nWe are looking for someone who has completed notary training in accordance with the Notary Ordinance (1990:469) with very good grades and who has Swedish citizenship and meets other requirements set out in Chapter 4, Section 1 of the Code of Judicial Procedure.\nVery good legal knowledge and analytical ability combined with a very strong ability to prioritize is required. You express yourself clearly, concisely, and correctly both verbally and in writing.\nWe are looking for someone with great maturity, integrity, and very good judgment. As a person, you are receptive to others' opinions, have very good communication skills, and enjoy collaborating with others.\nTo be considered for employment, you must also meet high standards regarding security awareness and suitability. This means that you stand up for democratic values and the state values that guide the operations of Sweden's Courts.\nApplication\nThe Court of Appeals hires Court of Appeals Fiscals four times per year. The Court of Appeals typically hires approximately 20 Court of Appeals Fiscals each year.\nApplication deadlines for each period:\n31 January\n30 April\n31 August\n31 October\nApplications are submitted through the recruitment tool Visma Recruit. Attach your CV, cover letter, and a copy of your degree certificate from the law program, including grades. Also attach your notary grades, or alternatively specify the date when your notary qualification is expected to be completed.\nWhen you apply for employment as a fiscal, your application is retained in our applicant database where it remains active for six months. During this time, you have the opportunity to supplement your application with additional grades or references. There is also an option to extend your application for an additional six months if you request it. If you are no longer interested in employment as a fiscal, the Court of Appeals would appreciate notification of this.\nSelection\nAfter the application period closes, all applicants will be asked to complete work psychological tests. If you have completed the Court of Appeals' tests within the past two years, you can choose whether you want to take the tests again or reuse your previous results. You will receive a link to the tests where you can choose to take them again or reuse your previous results.\nOnce the test period is complete, the Court of Appeals reviews the applicants' application materials, test results, and obtains references.
