We are seeking someone interested in a paid side job while making a concrete social impact. The position is an hourly employment in the afternoons\/evenings and involves being a homework tutor after school hours at one of our partner schools. With us, you work in a team of three tutors, all of whom are university\/college students. You will receive training in and work according to our structured approach. Each homework tutoring group consists of 15 students, and together with your colleagues, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on the work.\n\nAs a homework tutor, you can work either as a regular tutor or as a substitute. As a regular tutor, you work 6 hours per week spread over two scheduled afternoons\/evenings (opportunity for extra substitute shifts available). As a substitute, you work when regular tutors are on leave or sick. The work is performed after school hours in the school's facilities.\n\nWe are looking for someone who:\n-Is a university or college student\n-Has pedagogical skills and can communicate and build relationships with children and young people.\n-Is solution-oriented, proactive, and can work according to our structured approach and method.\n-Has broad foundational subject knowledge and good study techniques.\n-Shares Stiftelsen L\u00e4xhj\u00e4lpen's values and vision of a society where all children grow up with the conditions to succeed in school and shape their own future.\n\nSince the work involves working with children, we place great emphasis on personal suitability. Providing an extract from the police criminal record for the employer is a legal requirement to work with children and young people.\n\nThe differences between schools, where you live, where you come from, and what your parents do increasingly determine how likely you are to succeed in school. Stiftelsen L\u00e4xhj\u00e4lpen is a non-profit foundation that operates where the need is greatest. Homework tutoring is free for students, and tutors' salaries are financed through support from the business sector and public sector.\n\nL\u00e4xhj\u00e4lpen is a concrete initiative that addresses one of Sweden's biggest problems today\u2014that more and more young people are failing in school and risk being left out of society.
