Working at a detention facility involves a focus on care and security and is a job with clear procedures. You will also work with surveillance and inspection duties as well as staff the surveillance center. You need to have a strong interest in security work as the job at the detention facility is based on preventative dynamic security thinking.\nQualifications\nYour personal qualities are important. As a correctional officer, you need to be confident, stable, have good self-awareness, sound judgment, and integrity. It is important that you share the Correctional Service's fundamental values of a humane view of people. Together with your colleagues, you drive the operations, so you need to have good teamwork skills and be clear in your communication. You should be able to act physically when required.\n \nWe are looking for someone who has:\nWork experience, also in the form of seasonal work, temporary employment, or self-employment.
