At LARO, substitution treatment is provided to people with opioid dependence in accordance with the National Board of Health and Welfare's regulations and general advice on medication-assisted treatment for opioid dependence (HSLF 2016:1). The goal of LARO is to, through pharmacological treatment, psychological or psychosocial treatments, or social support, increase the possibilities for people with opioid dependence to achieve drug freedom as well as improved physical and mental health and social functioning. This takes place in multiprofessional teams, and a large part of the work involves cooperation with external actors, such as social services and the correctional system.
