You are responsible for structuring, planning, leading, and evaluating the after-school program. You work from governing documents and curriculum guidelines for after-school instruction. Your planning for students also serves as instructions for student assistants; therefore, you need strong teaching skills and the ability to lead other adults. You oversee, coordinate, and staff the daily after-school activities.\n\nDuring school breaks, the after-school program offers full-day activities that need to be planned and structured to provide students with meaningful, understandable, and manageable experiences based on individual needs.\n\nThe second part of your assignment is also shared. This may involve working in the classroom alongside mentors and student assistants as pedagogical expertise and support. This allows you to understand the overall operations and get to know students and colleagues in different contexts.
