The school is divided into a lower elementary and middle elementary building with a large shared schoolyard. We work in professional teams with the student's entire school day in focus. The school is PALS-certified. PALS (Positive Behavioral Support in Schools) is a research-based approach that aims to create a safe, inclusive, and predictable learning climate. The work permeates both school and after-school programs and is based on shared approaches, clear structures, and active relationship-building.\n\nJob Duties\nAs an after-school teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating instruction in the after-school program in accordance with Lgr22, part 4. Instruction combines care, development, and learning and gives students the opportunity to develop social skills, creativity, independence, and new interests in a safe and meaningful environment. The after-school program works with pedagogical planning and a shared annual calendar as part of systematic quality work, with focus on progression, equity, and visible instruction for students and guardians. During school hours, you collaborate with classroom teachers and other staff. Depending on qualifications, instruction may also occur in the school. Collaboration between school and after-school program is an important part of creating continuity and coherence in students' days.\n\nIn this role, you contribute to:\n- conducting instruction in the after-school program based on students' needs, interests, and experiences\n- creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment\n- strengthening students' social skills, responsibility, and collaboration\n- working preventively for safety and good learning conditions, including during breaks and transitions\n- contributing to equity, structure, and clear approaches\n- participating in and developing the after-school program's systematic quality work\n- collaborating with colleagues and guardians regarding students' development\n\nWe would appreciate it if you have experience with or interest in PALS work. The school needs more PALS instructors who can help further develop this approach in the after-school program.\n\nQualifications\nWe are looking for someone who is a licensed after-school teacher. Experience from after-school programs and schools is meriting, but we also welcome newly graduated teachers. Other relevant and equivalent education may also be of interest. You have good knowledge of after-school program regulations and work consciously to build safe and trustful relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. You communicate clearly, have a positive and professional approach, and actively contribute to the school's development work.
