As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be part of developing FTG's future products and technical solutions. The role encompasses both major development projects and customized designs, where you transform ideas and needs into robust, manufacturable, and functional products.\nYou will work closely with production, procurement, aftermarket, and suppliers to ensure that designs work in practice and meet the demands of a challenging operational environment. The role combines design, technical problem-solving, and development work, with the opportunity to follow your solutions from idea and design to finished product.\nYou will be part of FTG's engineering team and have the option to base yourself in either Trollh\u00e4ttan or B\u00e4ckefors. Since a large part of operations are conducted in B\u00e4ckefors, you will also be regularly on-site in production. You report to the company's Technical Director. Your responsibilities include:\n\nNew product and component design\n\n\nFurther development and improvement of existing products\n\n\nCustomized design solutions\n\n\nModeling and design in SolidWorks\n\n\nPreparation of manufacturing documentation and technical documentation\n\n\nDesign of welded steel and sheet metal structures\n\n\nStrength calculations and technical assessments\n\n\nTechnical dialogue with suppliers and other partners\n\n\nParticipation in testing, verification, and prototype development\n\n\nClose collaboration with production on manufacturing and assemblability\n\n\n\nABOUT YOU\nWe are seeking both those who are relatively early in their careers and those with extensive experience in mechanical design. What matters most is that you have a strong interest in technology and want to be part of developing products that are used in real-world applications every day.\nYou are driven to solve technical problems, develop products, and find smart solutions that work in practice. You have good understanding of mechanics and strength of materials, and feel confident working with structures subjected to high loads. Good experience with 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks, is a requirement for this role.\nAs a person, you are curious, responsible, and unpretentious. You enjoy collaborating with others, are practically minded, and have the ability to switch between long-term development projects and more operational issues when the business requires it.\nTo succeed in this role, you need to have:\n\nPost-secondary education in mechanical engineering or similar field\n\n\nExperience with mechanical design\n\n\nGood understanding of strength of materials\n\n\nExperience with welded steel or sheet metal structures\n\n\nExperience with 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks\n\n\nGood knowledge of Swedish and English\n\n\nIt is a merit if you have experience from construction machinery, forest machinery, agricultural machinery, vehicles, or other heavy mechanical industry.
