I have a tracheostomy and receive help with tracheostomy care, suctioning, and ventilator use, which means I have dual assistance 24\/7.\nI communicate using an eye-tracking computer and a spelling board. I receive nutrition through a feeding tube. I also have a catheter and am treated with insulin for my diabetes.\nI enjoy going for walks, spending time with my children and grandchild, having fika, and watching sports, among other things.\nI visit healthcare facilities often and need my assistants' help getting there.\nNow I'm looking for you who want to work as a personal assistant and provide me with the support I need to have a safe and meaningful everyday life.\nCommon work tasks for you as a personal assistant\nAs a personal assistant, you work closely with the user and provide support in various life situations.\nThe user requires life-sustaining services due to his tracheostomy. To work with the user, you must be trained in tracheostomy care and receive delegation from the National Respiratory Center (NRC). We will provide you with that training.\nSince the user does not have verbal speech, you need to be able to support and help him communicate with the world around him. The user has an eye-tracking computer that he communicates through, but may need help communicating via a spelling board when he doesn't have access to the computer.\nThe user has a catheter and is fed through a tube. The user needs your help emptying the catheter bag and connecting the tube feeding to the pump.\nThe user also has type 2 diabetes and is treated with insulin. You therefore need to be able to help him administer insulin by injection.\nThe work also includes support with personal hygiene and housework at home. The user is mobilized with a wheelchair and ceiling lift.
