The Doctoral Candidate will contribute to this effort by investigating the relationship between the structural organization of ecological networks and response diversity.\nResearch Project DC1:\nMore information: https:\/\/liu.se\/en\/work-at-liu\/vacancies\/29871\n\nYour Work Assignments\nCarry out theoretical research on response diversity, ecological networks, and ecosystem stability using mathematical and computational approaches.\nDevelop and implement computational models and analysis code for simulated and empirical ecological networks.\nAnalyze and interpret results in close collaboration with empirical ecologists within the ReDiLEEP network.\nConduct the research in accordance with the agreed research plan.\nContribute actively to scientific discussions and collaborations within the research group and the wider ReDiLEEP network.\nProduce scientific publications and present your research at international conferences and network meetings.\nParticipate actively in ReDiLEEP network training, secondments, dissemination, reporting, and cohort activities.\n\nAs a PhD student, you devote most of your time to doctoral studies and the research projects of which you are part. Your work may also include teaching or other departmental duties, up to a maximum of 20 percent of full-time.\nSecondments and Network Training\nThe position includes 7 months of planned secondments:\n3 months at University of Namur: Integrating network group structure with trait theory\n3 months at Cardiff University: Bridging network models and interaction experiments\n1 month at Lutra Interactive: Development of interactive visualization of key results\n\nYour Qualifications\nThe candidate must have\nGraduated at Master's level in ecology, biology, applied mathematics, computational science, data science or completed courses with a minimum of 240 credits, at least 60 of which must be in advanced courses in ecology, biology, applied mathematics, computational science, data science.
