We study geographical conditions, relationships, and change processes, as well as all the factors that influence societal development in different places around the world. In other words, we take a comprehensive approach to understanding societal development\u2014locally, regionally, and globally.\nJob Duties\nThe postdoctoral position aims to provide, after completion of a doctoral degree, an early opportunity for the employee to develop their independence as a researcher and create conditions for further career advancement. The position is part of promoting future competence supply. Independent research and publication activities, initiation of new projects, and preparation of project proposals are central job duties. In the postdoctoral position, work duties are primarily focused on research, but teaching up to 20% may be included. Teaching may consist of lectures with examination, seminars, or supervision of theses.\nThe advertised postdoctoral position has a special focus on the relationship between screen time\/digital media and young people's outdoor activities, with particular emphasis on time spent in nature areas and nature contact. The study examines how digital media can compete with, encourage, or otherwise influence and reshape young people's outdoor activities and nature contact.\nJob duties include research studies within the research project \"Screen Time in Transition: A Study of the Long-Term Trends and Significance of Digitalization in Young People's Everyday Lives,\" financed by the Swedish Research Council. The project's overarching purpose is to track long-term trends in how digital practices reshape young people's priorities and use of time and place for various everyday activities and social relationships. Through repeated surveys of upper secondary school students, the project follows developments over a 25-year period, from stationary internet use and texting with basic mobile phones to today's smartphone-based and increasingly AI-integrated everyday life. The project is based on time geography as a theoretical framework and uses time-geographic diaries and in-depth interviews as data collection methods.\nJob duties include, first and foremost, data collection using time-geographic diaries and in-depth interviews with upper secondary school students recruited at two upper secondary schools in the Gothenburg area.
