Work tasks include cultivating diatoms for viral infection, characterizing infection (e.g., using electron microscopy and determining viral titers), purifying viruses and cellular components, and determining structures using cryo-electron microscopy.\n\nWork Tasks\nAs a postdoctoral researcher, your primary responsibility will be to conduct research. Teaching may be included in your work tasks, but no more than one-fifth of your working time. Within the framework of the employment, you will be offered the opportunity to participate in three weeks of higher education pedagogical training.\n\nWork tasks also include:\nResearch within the subject area.\nSupervision of thesis students and doctoral candidates.\nSeeking external research funding.\n\nQualifications\nTo be eligible for employment as a postdoctoral researcher, you must have completed a doctoral degree, or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a doctoral degree, within the subject area of the position and completed no more than three years before the employment decision date. If there are special reasons, the doctoral degree may have been completed earlier.\n\nOther requirements:\nVery good knowledge of English, spoken and written.\nDocumented practical experience with structure determination using cryo-electron microscopy.\nDocumented practical experience with work involving viruses.\nDocumented practical experience with cultivation of prokaryotic and\/or eukaryotic algae.\n\nAssessment Criteria\nThis is a merit-based position primarily focused on research.
