We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Fiber and Polymer Technology at KTH.\nIn a Formas-funded project in collaboration with Hitachi Energy and Nordic Seafarm, we are developing knowledge and tools to reduce energy consumption in dewatering and drying of bio-based materials. Your role is to develop a robust numerical model of mechanical dewatering and subsequent thermal drying and further develop it into a validated digital twin of the process.\nYou will work within a continuum framework for porous media coupled with heat transfer including phase change\u2014and implement the model in existing codes and\/or COMSOL with AI support. You will calibrate and validate the model against experimental data, demonstrate a digital twin on industrial or lab data, and work closely with an experimental postdoctoral researcher and with the industrial partners.\nQualifications\nRequired\nCompleted doctoral degree or equivalent foreign degree.
