The position is part of the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP) at Link\u00f6ping University and is located at the intersection of cybersecurity and AI, with a particular focus on security and privacy for AI-based real-time, networked, and safety-critical systems.\nYour Responsibilities\nThe research will investigate how AI can be designed, implemented, and used in a secure and reliable manner in environments with high demands for real-time performance, robustness, security, and privacy.\nYou will work on challenges at the intersection of cybersecurity and AI, including security in AI and machine learning systems, adversarial attacks, privacy-preserving machine learning, secure and distributed learning, detection and handling of attacks against AI-based systems, and the robustness of AI systems operating in dynamic environments and resource-constrained environments. The research will also consider the interplay between AI security and the underlying communication and computing infrastructure. Depending on research direction, application areas may include aviation and other critical infrastructure, where networked systems must operate securely and reliably with real-time requirements. Solid research experience in cybersecurity, particularly in communication network security, distributed systems, real-time systems, or critical infrastructure, is therefore highly relevant for the position.\nAs a postdoctoral researcher, you will primarily conduct research. Teaching may also be part of your responsibilities, but limited to at most one-fifth of your working time.\nYour Qualifications\n \n \nTo be eligible for employment as a postdoctoral researcher, you must have completed a doctoral degree or have a foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a doctoral degree. Your degree must be completed by the time the employment decision is made.\nIt is meritorious if your degree was completed within three years prior to the application deadline for this position. If there are special reasons, it may be considered if the doctoral degree was completed earlier, for example due to various types of statutory leave.\nWe seek candidates with a doctoral degree in computer science, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, or a related field. You should have extensive research experience in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence\/machine learning, networked systems, or a related field. You should have a strong publication profile in relevant areas such as cybersecurity, AI\/ML, network security, distributed systems, real-time systems, or related areas, with publications in high-quality scientific journals and internationally competitive conferences. Knowledge of and research experience in AI\/ML security, including adversarial machine learning, secure or privacy-preserving machine learning, or security in distributed AI systems, is meritorious. Experience with aviation data, communication networks in aviation, or other safety-critical or mission-critical applications is a particular merit.\nExperience supervising or co-supervising master's level thesis projects, as well as experience contributing to the development of research proposals or research collaborations, is meritorious.\nVery good knowledge of English, both oral and written, is a requirement. You should be able to work independently and take responsibility for your research, while also being able to collaborate effectively with researchers from different disciplines and backgrounds.
