It is much about being, not always doing. You cannot fully plan what a day will look like. Something happens in the encounter in the corridor. Something happens in the waiting room we sit in, a brief conversation perhaps, or it becomes more when existential questions need to be discussed. No day is like the other \u2013 that is exactly what \"it\" is!\nAbout the position\nWe expect a flexible colleague with a great dose of humble curiosity who is comfortable being church in another arena \u2013 where the activity is not in focus \u2013 but where the conversation with the patient, the relative or the staff is our focus. We meet in pastoral care, support and reflection where we courageously stand firm, not to be traditional in a mission, but from a strong and long tradition at V\u00e4stmanland Hospital in V\u00e4ster\u00e5s. The role also includes participating in and leading education and reflection sessions with care staff which creates relationships and trust to maintain. Likewise, you are expected to participate in pastorate-wide contexts, such as leading Levavidare groups and participating in joint gatherings.\nWhat do we offer?\nWe offer structure, laughter, small premises and a large hospital. We value competence, so naturally you go through the Hospital Church's competence program in four steps if you don't already have it, of course. We also care about your well-being and therefore offer work supervision.\n \nQualifications\nTo apply for the role, we want you to:\nBe ordained as a priest in the Church of Sweden\nHave at least three years of experience working as a priest\nHave a driver's license and access to your own car\nGood knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing\nBasic data skills in the Office package and general computer proficiency\n\nIt is a merit if you have:\nPrevious experience of or training in institutional pastoral care\nPastoral care training and conversation methodology\nExperience in crisis and support conversations\n \n\n\nPersonal qualities\nTo thrive in the role of hospital priest, we believe you are good with other people and are outgoing, social and active in the contexts you share.
