You will lead activities to improve transformer winding\/active part performance, design and manufacturing methods while challenging legacy routines and developing better suited concepts for the future. The role will cooperate closely with experts in different transformer technology fields as well as with transformer design and manufacturing specialists globally. You will build and maintain a network with the HVDC Transformer factories globally, collecting the inputs and supporting implementation of new development.\nWorking in R&D will give you the possibility to use your creativity to solve a wide spectrum of challenges. You will have exciting and varied work in front of you where you will get a broad network internally and externally. Work with both the local factory and the global organization within Transformers and have career development opportunities as a Specialist or as a Project Manager.\nYour responsibilities\nCreating conceptual designs of Transformer windings to meet specified requirements (functional, technical, quality, etc).\nAbility to create detailed design and 3D modeling as well as running mechanical verifications using simulation tools.\nRunning Design for Excellence practices (DFA, DFM, FMEA, etc.).\nPreparing reports and related documents in accordance with internal and external requirements.\nTechnical standards: Ensure that winding-related processes and calculation methods are state of the art. Work with programmers to implement and test new methods in the design software.\nTechnical support: Support the design, manufacturing, quality and supply chain organizations with technical expertise to ensure that technical requirements are fulfilled.\nTechnical leadership and knowledge sharing: Coach and provide support and technical advice to colleagues on winding-related topics. Maintain a network of engineering professionals to share best practices across different disciplines and the HVDC Transformer factories.\n\nYour background\nMaster's or Bachelor's degree combined with work-life experience in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.\n3+ Years of experience in Design & Engineering.\nDomain expertise in Power transformers.\nFundamental knowledge of using different materials and manufacturing methods.\nUnderstanding of electrical, magnetic and thermal phenomena.\nAdvanced knowledge of 3D CAD software Creo\/ProE.\nFluent command of English, both written and spoken.\nWillingness to learn and try new things without fear of failure!\n\nMore About Us\nWe believe great work thrives in an environment where people feel genuinely supported and fairly rewarded.
