Our mission is broad and we work both preventatively and in emergency response. As a firefighter, you are the first responder at accidents and fires and play a crucial role in assisting those affected. The role includes training, education, maintenance of equipment, and other tasks within the fire service's area of operations, including public information.\n\nTo work as a firefighter, you need to be calm, confident, empathetic, and have strong collaboration skills. It is important that you can understand others' perspectives and are caring. You work well with others, are communicative, take initiative, and have a strong focus on customer and citizen service. As a person, you remain calm and stable in high-pressure situations, adapt easily to new conditions, and have excellent collaboration skills.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\nEducation\n\nYou must have completed the Skydd mot Olyckor training with a passing grade, or equivalent training that the employer deems equivalent, and you must have valid smoke diving certification. You hold a driver's license with BE\/C authorization and are a competent swimmer meeting the requirements of the Skydd mot Olyckor training.\n\nTo be hired, you also need to be approved for smoke and chemical diving and climbing with significant height differences according to AFS 2023:13.
