To view the ad in its entirety including additional information, please visit Jobs and vacancies at SLU | Externwebben.\n\u00a0\nRead more about our benefits and what it is like to work at SLU https:\/\/www.slu.se\/en\/about-slu\/work-at-slu\/.\n\u00a0\nSubject description\nThe subject encompasses digitalisation in agriculture, with a focus on the application of mechatronics or robotics.\nDuties\nThe candidate should within the subject area\ndevelop and lead internationally prominent research with a focus on crop production\ndevelop, strategically lead and participate in teaching at first, second and third cycle level\nprimarily teach within the MSc in Engineering programmes at SLU, but also contribute to other educational components at first, second and third cycle level where the subject is included\nsupervise doctoral students\ndevelop and maintain national and international networks with academia, relevant public authorities, industry, organisations and society at large\napply for external research funding\ncontribute to the strategic development of the department, faculty and SLU\ncommunicate research findings and other relevant information to society at large\nperform administrative duties within the department, the faculty, and the university\n\nSwedish and English are used in parallel at the department. The senior lecturer should be able to perform the majority of their tasks in English. However, as a public authority, the university has Swedish as its main language according to the requirements of the Language Act and the appointee is expected to be able to communicate in Swedish within four years of taking up the position. The department will support the appointee in achieving this.\nEligibility\nThe applicant must meet the following qualification requirements:\nPhD or equivalent scientific competence\nresearch expertise in the subject area\nteaching expertise and ability to integrate research and a scientific approach into teaching\ngood knowledge of English\n\nAssessment criteria\nIn the assessment criteria for employment, the primary consideration should be the level of skill required for eligibility for the position. Assessment of the eligible applicant\u2019s suitability for the employment will primarily be based on:\ncompleted and ongoing research in the subject area\nability to independently initiate and conduct outstanding research\nability to obtain external research funding in competition\nability of planning, implementation and examination, as well as evaluation of own teaching\nsupervision and examination of doctoral students\nthe ability to integrate research and a scientific approach into teaching and pedagogical practice\npedagogic vision and reflection\n\nFurthermore, the assessment will consider the applicant\u2019s expertise in:\ndeveloping and leading activities within academia\ncollaborating with relevant stakeholders and society\ncommunicating research findings and development\n\nIt is advantageous if the applicant has experience in research or development in the field of autonomous field robots.\nAs much attention must be given to the assessment of teaching expertise as to the assessment of research expertise. The position will be offered to the eligible candidate who, following a qualitative comprehensive assessment is deemed to have the best qualifications set to conduct and develop the duties in question, and contribute to the positive development of the organisation.\n\u00a0Additional information\n* Swedish \u201cuniversitetslektor\u201d, a tenured position approximately equivalent to senior lecturer (UK) or associate professor (US).
