The teams are responsible for the entire lifecycle \u2013 from idea and development to operation and further development of mission-critical systems and services.\n\nTo meet new assignments and increased responsibility, we are now seeking several senior system developers who want to be part of developing SMHI's web services \u2013 from data services and APIs to modern user interfaces.\n\nAbout the Role\nAs a senior system developer with us, you will be part of one of our development teams within IT Development. The teams work within different operational areas, such as hydrology, climate, meteorology, or air quality.\n\nYou will primarily work on developing web-based services where large amounts of data about weather, water, climate, and environment are processed, visualized, and made accessible to users. Our services are used by, among others, authorities, urban planners, businesses, and the general public.\n\nYou will be involved in the entire development chain \u2013 from analysis and design to implementation, testing, operations, and further development. The work includes both backend development and data services as well as modern web interfaces and visualizations.\n\nYou will, among other things:\nDevelop backend and frontend solutions\nWork with APIs, data services, and integrations\nDevelop user-facing web services for visualizing mission-critical information\nContribute to architecture, technology choices, and long-term system development\nCollaborate closely with both developers and the business\n\nWe work agile, and the teams are collectively responsible for quality, delivery, and operation of their systems.\n\nWith us, there are good opportunities to develop over time, both as a technical specialist (for example in system architecture or frontend) and within leadership as a team coach.\n\nWe are Looking for You With\nPost-secondary education in system development, computer science, or equivalent competence acquired through work experience\nAt least five years of work experience as a system developer\nAt least three years of work experience developing in Linux-based environments\nAt least three years of work experience in system development with Python\nExperience with web development using JavaScript and modern frontend frameworks, such as React\nExperience working in agile teams\nGood knowledge of Swedish and English\n\nIt is a merit if you have in-depth experience in\nJava or TypeScript\nLeaflet, MapLibre, or similar libraries for map-based web solutions\nSystem architecture\nCI\/CD and work in automated IT environments\nDesign of robust and complex systems with high availability requirements (24\/7)\nPostgreSQL\nAccessibility adaptation according to WCAG\n\nWho Are You?\nWe place great importance on your personal qualities.
