The school is characterized by a secure and family-like environment where relationships and closeness between students and staff are central. In the Bjurs\u00e5s area, there is an additional counselor focused on the F-6 perspective. V\u00e4stra skolan (grades 7\u20139) has approximately 500 students and is centrally located in Falun. It is close to the city's cultural offerings, such as the theater, Dalarnas Museum, the city library, and the Falun World Heritage Site, which creates good opportunities to integrate the wider world into teaching. At V\u00e4stra skolan, there is an additional counselor.\n\nWork Responsibilities\n\nAs a counselor, you will be part of the schools' student health teams. Together with school staff, you will work to promote health and prevent problems in order to create good conditions for students' learning and development.\n\nYour work responsibilities include:\n- contributing psychosocial expertise at the organizational, group, and individual levels\n- providing support to students, staff, and guardians\n- collaborating with internal and external actors, such as social services, habilitation, and child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP)\n- working to strengthen student participation and amplify their perspectives\n- identifying and analyzing factors in the learning environment that promote or hinder student development\n\nYou actively work to develop a learning environment that supports students' goal achievement and well-being.\n\nQualifications\n\nThe role requires:\n- a degree in social work or other equivalent higher education\n- strong ability to express yourself well in speech and writing\n- experience with supportive work with children and young people\n- experience working as a school counselor\n\nPersonal Qualities\n\nYou have a strong commitment to the psychosocial situation of children and young people and a good ability to meet students in different life situations.
