As a counselor, you are part of the school's student health team, whose main task is health-promoting and preventive work. You structure and coordinate social interventions for students with various school-related difficulties. In your role as counselor, you also guide teachers in psychosocial matters, work with students at individual and group levels, and provide supportive conversations with students. Based on the student's needs, you collaborate with teachers, guardians and others within the student health team as well as with social services, child and adolescent psychiatry and others. You are also part of the school's equal treatment team where you work preventively with others in the group and sometimes assist with acute interventions.\n\nExamples of work tasks:\n\n\u2022 health-promoting and preventive work at group level\n\u2022 conduct support, motivation, crisis and conflict conversations as well as investigative, advisory and processing conversations with individual students\n\u2022 initiate and participate in network work around students\n\u2022 map and assess the social situation outside school for individual students\n\u2022 work with groups in acute situations and for preventive purposes\n\u2022 be responsible for revising and updating the school's action plan regarding sexuality, consent and relationships\n\u2022 be responsible for following up the school's equal treatment work\n\u2022 provide professional supervision and consultation to school staff\n\u2022 contribute social and psychosocial perspectives to the development of educational activities\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\nWe are looking for someone with a degree in social work. If you have experience working in a school environment or similar work experience, we consider that a merit.\n\nAs a school counselor at Vimarskolan 7-9, you are good at collaboration but can also plan and prioritize your work and perform it independently. You have an outgoing and inclusive approach and build good relationships with educators, students and guardians. You treat people's differences with respect and share society's and the school's values, including regarding inclusion. Furthermore, you are comfortable working with both small and larger groups of students and staff, to meet the requirements of the education act regarding preventive and health-promoting work.\n\nYou follow current research and base your development work on an analysis of previous results. Som kurator ing\u00e5r du i skolans elevh\u00e4lsoteam vars huvuduppdrag \u00e4r det h\u00e4lsofr\u00e4mjande och f\u00f6rebyggande arbetet. Du strukturerar och samordnar sociala insatser runt elever med olika skolsv\u00e5righeter. I tj\u00e4nsten handleder du som kurator ocks\u00e5 l\u00e4rare i psykosociala fr\u00e5gor, arbetar med elever p\u00e5 individ- och gruppniv\u00e5 samt har st\u00f6dsamtal med elever.
