You will actively work to build trusting relationships and create an environment where students feel seen, heard, and respected.\n\nYou will, among other things:\n\n- be a safe and accessible adult that students can turn to\n- work to build relationships and take a preventive approach to students' social development\n- identify students who need extra support, motivation, or a trusted adult contact\n- work to increase wellbeing, safety, community, and school attendance\n- support students in social situations and during conflicts\n- help prevent harassment, exclusion, and problematic school absenteeism\n- have motivating and supportive conversations with students\n- collaborate with teachers, student health services, and other staff regarding students' needs\n- contribute a social pedagogical perspective to the school's student health work\n- be involved in the school's safety work and various preventive initiatives\n- create activities and contexts that promote community and inclusion.\n\nAs a social pedagogue, you need to be able to meet students with different needs and circumstances.
