The leadership teams will give schools the opportunity for increased collaboration and the chance to become stronger together.\nSchool District 20 in Southwest consists of the following five school units: Deaf and Hearing F-9, Kanneb\u00e4ck Adapted Elementary School 1-9, Kanneb\u00e4ck Resource School 1-9, Kanneb\u00e4ck, \u00c4ng\u00e5sskolan F-6, and V\u00e4ttnedalsskolan F-6.\nThe leadership team for School District Southwest 20 consists of one principal and six assistant principals as well as approximately 300 staff members.\nRight now we are seeking a special education teacher with a focus on intellectual disability (ID) for Kanneb\u00e4ck Adapted Elementary School to teach grades 1-6.\nWe have a unique bilingual environment with Swedish Sign Language and Swedish. Here, students meet with varying degrees of hearing loss and deafness, often in combination with language disorder and\/or other neurodevelopmental disabilities. We view sign language not only as a communication tool, but as a key to identity, knowledge, and social community. We value visual accessibility and linguistic inclusion in everything we do.\nJob Duties\nYour primary task will be to create a safe and predictable learning environment for students who have comprehensive support needs during the school day and need that little extra \u2013 both pedagogically and relationally. You will have instruction in a smaller student group as well as one-on-one to strengthen knowledge development, and the assignment requires a high degree of flexibility and responsiveness.\nWe can offer small student groups and good support from a student welfare team consisting of speech-language pathologists, special education specialists, counselors, psychologists, and school nurses. We offer opportunities for professional development in TAKK (Sign as Alternative and Augmentative Communication), sign language, language disorders, and neurodevelopmental disabilities (NDD).\nQualifications\nYou who are applying:\nhave teacher certification and a special education teacher degree, preferably with eligibility to teach grades 1-6\nhave a special education teacher degree, preferably with a focus on intellectual disability\nhave competence and experience working with clarifying pedagogy and a low-affect approach\nhave experience working with students with neurodevelopmental disabilities\nare a responsible person who can meet students with warmth and respect\nhave basic knowledge of Swedish Sign Language or interest in learning it\n\nWe want you to be independent, flexible, clear, and creative.
