Then we think you should apply for the position of Specialist Doctor in Oncology at the Oncology Clinic!\n\nThe Oncology Clinic at the Regional Hospital in \u00d6stersund is responsible for oncological cancer treatment for residents of J\u00e4mtland and H\u00e4rjedalen. We can provide almost all treatments on-site, but for treatments such as radiation therapy, we collaborate with Norrlands University Hospital in Ume\u00e5 and Sundsvall Hospital. The clinic treats patients primarily from the surgery clinic. The most common diagnoses are breast cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, malignant melanoma, prostate cancer, and urinary tract cancer.\n\nWe have high competence among our staff with nurses and nursing assistants, and we have both specialist-competent physicians and physicians in training. Oncology consultants from Ume\u00e5 also visit regularly. We have a well-functioning system with contact nurses. We work closely with the palliative care unit for patients receiving palliative oncological treatment. The clinic also has a cancer rehabilitation team.\n\nThe Surgery Division has the status of a university healthcare unit, and teaching, mentoring, and training of medical students at Ume\u00e5 University are part of the position. We are positive and encourage clinical research, although it is not a requirement.\n\n\u00d6stersund Hospital is the only one in our region and houses most of the healthcare specialties. Training to become a specialist in oncology takes 5 years and requires you to meet the goals for specialization as established by the National Board of Health and Welfare. The content and duration of the training depend partly on the applicant's base specialty. To ensure that specialist doctors achieve competence in necessary areas, a large portion of rotations take place at Norrlands University Hospital. Specialist doctors also participate in Ume\u00e5's internal specialist training program.\r\n\r\nQUALIFICATIONS\r\nLicensed physician with previous professional experience. Experience in oncology is a merit, but most important is a willingness and ability to work with seriously ill patients and their families.
