G\u00e4vle Municipality has two residential facilities for children, one located in Hille and one in S\u00f6dra Bomhus, with a total capacity of seven children\/youth.\n\nWith us, you get a job with a golden edge - you become an important person in children and youth's lives. At our LSS residences, children\/youth with severe functional disabilities live full-time. You follow and support their lives closely and relationships are built deeply. You need to be their safe point, but often also their driving force. You should meet our children\/youth with empathy and respect, regardless of their behavior, which is of utmost importance. This means you need to maintain professional distance to avoid being personally affected by emotional reactions.\n\nYour work tasks include:\n\n\t\u2022 Ensuring that children\/youth receive the support they need based on their specific needs.\n\t\u2022 Close collaboration with the children's\/youth's guardians and other actors such as school, child and youth rehabilitation, or adult rehabilitation.\n\t\u2022 Using different alternative communication methods such as TAKK, picture schedules, TD Snap (Pratis) and\/or Widgit.\n\t\u2022 All work is planned based on the children's\/youth's implementation plans; you should be able to work independently but also together with colleagues.\n\t\u2022 Take responsibility, step forward and be flexible when things change quickly. When challenges arise in the children's or youth's lives, you need to be the one who guides forward in a clear and safe way.\n\nThe work can be challenging and some of the children\/youth may have challenging and externalizing behavior that you must be able to meet with professionalism and compassion.\n\nYou participate and support the children\/youth in all the residence's tasks as well as indoor and outdoor activities. We work together, support each other, and have plenty of laughter, outings, and other fun activities with the children and youth. There is also room to grow here.\n\nYou document your work in social records and write and update action plans. You have a responsibility to plan, implement, and document your work according to applicable procedures and to evaluate and update as needed. You work every other weekend.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\nFormal competencies:\n\n\t\u2022 An approved education as a support assistant, social pedagogue, or education from the care and nursing program, or the child and leisure program with a focus on social work.\n\t\u2022 You must have at least two years of experience working at residential facilities with special services for children or youth according to LSS (child residential home), short-term homes for children or youth according to LSS, or group homes for adults under LSS.\n\t\u2022 We also want you to have experience or training in alternative communication methods such as TAKK, picture schedules, TD Snap (Pratis), Widgit.\n\t\u2022 You should be able to maintain social documentation and have good computer skills.\n\t\u2022 Class B driver's license, as you often drive children\/youth on outings and do other activities.\n\nMerits:\n\n\t\u2022 If you have training or experience in low-affect handling.\n\t\u2022 If you have experience using digital tools, smartphones, tablets, etc.\n\nTo succeed in the role:\n\n\t\u2022 You handle stress constructively and maintain a good mood under pressure and setbacks.\n\t\u2022 Listening, showing empathy and respect are self-evident for you while you are unpretentious and notice and reward others' contributions.\n\t\u2022 You meet our children\/youth professionally and empathetically regardless of their behavior and avoid being personally affected.\n\nYou are a person who inspires confidence, creates credibility and trust, and has the ability to spread calm and stability.
