We are proud to be part of a university ranked among the top 100 in the world, and we appreciate the international environment in which we operate.\n\nWe are now seeking two to four teaching assistants for the Division of Structural Mechanics, with positions in Helsingborg and Lund.\n\nJob Responsibilities\nAs a teaching assistant, your tasks will vary and should provide insight into the academic world at the faculty where you are pursuing your studies.\n\nThe responsibilities include:\n- Teaching exercise sessions in the introductory course in structural mechanics for the engineering degree and master's degree programs.\n- Participation in the assessment of examination tasks in basic structural mechanics.\n- Supervision during laboratory sessions.\n- Administrative tasks.\n\nFor positions based in Helsingborg, teaching is primarily scheduled for Monday and Wednesday 15:00-17:00. For positions based in Lund, teaching is scheduled according to the timetable for VSMA06 Structural Mechanics; see www.lth.se.\n\nQualifications\nTo be eligible for employment as a teaching assistant, you must be admitted to a program at the basic or advanced level at the faculty (or a related subject for joint departments). Your degree must not yet have been awarded.\n\nRequirements for employment:\n- Admission to a master's degree program, engineering degree program, or equivalent education that the employer considers relevant.\n- Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.\n- Completed course in Structural Mechanics or equivalent of at least 6 ECTS credits.\n- Very good understanding and proficiency in basic structural mechanics.\n- Good communication skills.\n\nMerits for employment:\n- Advanced-level knowledge in structural mechanics.\n- Previous teaching experience.\n- Good collaborative skills.\n- Interest in contributing to others' learning.\n\nWhat We Offer\nLund University is a public agency offering favorable employment conditions. A position as a teaching assistant may not exceed 50% of full-time work and may be time-limited to a maximum of one year, with a combined maximum of three years. The position must not negatively affect the teaching assistant's studies. Regulations regarding educational employment as a teaching assistant are found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, sections 8-12.
