The department includes libraries, swimming facilities, a cultural school, Youth Recreation, and other culture and recreation activities.\n\nYouth Outreach activities are organized within the Youth Recreation unit, which also includes recreation centers and the Leisure Equipment Library.\n\nObjectives of the assignment:\n\nYouth Outreach's mission is through presence, relationships, and collaboration to help more young people receive support at the right time, increase security for children and young people in the municipality, reduce the risk of exclusion and norm-breaking behavior. Strengthen young people's participation and access to meaningful recreation, and contribute to socially sustainable development in Mj\u00f6lby Municipality.\n\nWould you like to be part of making a difference for young people's futures in Mj\u00f6lby Municipality?\n\n4 position(s).\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nAs a youth outreach worker, you work both preventively and proactively to strengthen children's and young people's protective factors, promote participation, and contribute to increased security in the municipality.\n\nYour main responsibilities are to build long-term and trusting relationships with children and young people. You are present in the spaces where young people gather, such as schools, recreation centers, town centers, residential areas, and various public environments. You identify needs and pay early attention to young people at risk of vulnerability or norm-breaking behavior.\n\nYou motivate and support young people toward positive change and active recreational choices. You guide young people and families to appropriate support services. When needed, you collaborate with guardians, schools, social services, police, community organizations, and other actors by participating in coordinated support meetings and other collaboration forums.\n\nYou map trends, needs, and risk environments among the municipality's young people, plan and carry out information sessions, themed days, and activities for young people, document, follow up, and contribute to the development of the activities.\n\nThe position includes evening and weekend work.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\nWe are looking for someone who has:\n\n\u2022 Education in social work, behavioral science, social pedagogy, public health, or other education that the employer considers relevant.\n\u2022 Experience working with children and young people.\n\u2022 Strong ability to build relationships and create trust.\n\u2022 Good collaboration skills.\n\u2022 Strong ability to express yourself in speaking and writing in Swedish.\n\nIt is an advantage if you have:\n\n\u2022 Experience in outreach or preventive youth work.\n\u2022 Experience with collaboration between schools, social services, police, and recreation.\n\u2022 Knowledge of crime prevention work and social sustainability.\n\u2022 Experience working with young people at risk.\n\u2022 Knowledge of substance abuse prevention and security-building work.\n\u2022 Valid driver's license (Category B)\n\nYou have the ability to work with other people; to listen, show empathy and respect.
