Teaching includes supervision, examination, course evaluation, and course development. Collaboration is an integrated part of the university's research and education mission, and as a University Lecturer you actively contribute to the university's development work. Your duties also include general administration, professional development, and participation in daily operations and the work of the subject area and department.\nFor this position, you will conduct teaching and deliver course modules in digital and physical graphic design, visualization, and printing techniques in courses within various programs at MDU such as interaction design, spatial design, visualization and text design, the international master's program in Innovation and Design, and engineering programs with a focus on product development.\nThe role also includes supporting students in design, visualization, and production projects and serving as a specialist resource for faculty, students, and other operations at the university. You will also be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and development of the print room equipment, provide print and graphic services to operations at MDU, and manage purchasing and inventory of materials and consumables.\nEligibility Requirements\nWe are looking for someone who has demonstrated teaching skills and holds a master's degree or equivalent qualification.\nTeaching skills must be documented in such a way that the quality of previous work can be assessed.\nTo be employed as a teacher at MDU, higher education pedagogy training or equivalent knowledge is required. Those hired without higher education pedagogy training will be offered the opportunity to complete such training within two and a half years. The higher education pedagogy training at M\u00e4lardalens University corresponds to ten weeks of study.\nFor this position, the following eligibility requirements apply in addition to those established in the MDU Employment Regulations:\nMaster's degree in a subject relevant to the position, such as graphic design, graphic form, or equivalent qualification.\nPedagogical competence and experience in teaching and supervision in digital and physical graphic design and printing techniques at higher education or university level.\nStrong knowledge of graphic software, particularly Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).\nGood material knowledge regarding, for example, paper, canvas, vinyl, plexiglas, Re-board, wood, and metal.\nKnowledge and understanding of graphic design processes and production workflows.\nGood oral and written communication skills in both Swedish and English at the level required to perform regular duties in teaching and administration.\n\nAssessment Criteria\nThe assessment criteria shall be based on the degree of skill required for the position and the ability and suitability otherwise required to perform the duties well.\nIn addition to the assessment criteria established in the MDU Employment Regulations, particular weight will be given to the following for this position:\nBroad expertise in graphic design and visual communication in various media and contexts\nExperience with procurement and ordering of graphic materials and technical equipment\nCommitment to graphic design and production\nGood technical understanding, particularly regarding printing techniques\nExperience in graphic production in print, printing, and production such as exhibitions, events, and trade fairs\nKnowledge of the operation, handling, and maintenance of printers and professional printing systems\n\nIn an overall assessment of suitability, personal abilities are also valued.
