You'll work with everything from contemporary art and industrial history to events and the development of our upcoming football museum.\nVerket is a unique industrial historical environment and home to the international contemporary art initiative Avesta Art. In 2027, a new football museum will also open in Koppardalen. This means new exhibitions, new technology and new public experiences, and we're looking for you to help make it all work.\nAbout the Job\nAs an exhibition technician, you'll work with technical production, installation, operation and maintenance at Verket, Avesta Art and the football museum. Your particular area of expertise is lighting, sound, AV and digital technology.\nYou'll work alongside Verket's head technician, who has overall responsibility for technical exhibition production. You'll participate in production, assembly, installation and minor construction work, while also working independently within your technical field.\nThe work is practical, varied and sometimes quite far from a traditional workplace. Verket is a large-scale industrial environment from the 1880s where installations may need to be solved under unusual conditions. The football museum is currently being built in old industrial premises. The work may therefore involve both physical labor and working at heights.\nYou will, among other things:\n\ninstall, configure, commission and troubleshoot installations with lighting, sound, AV and digital technology\n\n\nbe responsible for ongoing operation and maintenance of technical equipment\n\n\nadapt and develop technical solutions for exhibitions, artworks, public spaces and events\n\n\nparticipate in assembly and installation of exhibitions and artworks\n\n\nwork with lighting, rigging and technical support for programs and events\n\n\nperform minor construction and material processing\n\n\nhandle equipment and exhibition materials and contribute to documentation, storage and logistics\n\n\ntogether with others in the team contribute to safe installations and risk assessments.\n\n\nYou'll work closely with artists, curators, project managers, producers and colleagues in the organization. This means you need to combine technical knowledge with collaboration and a solution-oriented approach.\nWho We're Looking For\nWe're looking for you with relevant vocational training in, for example, stage and event technology, sound, lighting, AV technology or media technology. You may also have acquired equivalent competence through work experience.\nYou have several years of practical experience with lighting, sound and\/or AV technology, for example from stage, events, exhibitions, museums or other public activities.\nTo succeed in this role, you need to:\n\nindependently be able to install, configure, commission and troubleshoot technical equipment and technical systems\n\n\nhave experience with digital technology and control systems and quickly grasp new technical solutions\n\n\nbe practically minded and familiar with relevant tools and machinery\n\n\nbe able to participate in assembly, installation and minor construction work\n\n\nhave a B-class driver's license.\n\n\nIt's an advantage if you have experience with projects or productions with fixed deadlines and many different professional groups. It's also beneficial if you can read technical drawings and wiring diagrams or have experience in art and artifact handling.\nCertification for mobile work platforms, lifts and fall protection is desirable.\nAs a Person\nYou enjoy solving problems and take responsibility for getting work done.
