Research and development activities are focused on improving knowledge about soil suitability for construction, achieving reduced resource and climate impact in soil construction, and developing methods and technologies to support this.\n\nWe conduct applied research in the following areas: geotechnical soil properties and more efficient foundation and reinforcement methods for geotechnically problematic soils, as well as changed load conditions resulting from climate change.\n\nThe role includes conducting research that creates added value in fulfilling our societal mission and working to ensure that research results are put to practical use. You are expected to take your own initiatives and actively contribute to and be responsible for developing new development and research applications that also help secure external funding for parts of the research activities. Beyond this, you will also contribute to societal benefit by publishing targeted guidance documents and practical recommendations.\n\nThe work involves, in addition to leading your own assignments, participating in others' assignments within SGI's operations. You will have many external contacts, primarily with authorities and research actors but also with municipalities and private clients.\n\nThe position also includes participation in our knowledge dissemination activities (for example, courses, seminars, and lectures) and review activities (for example, review of detailed plans).
