We welcome your application!\nDescription of the Unit\nAs a water coordinator, you will work at the office for the Water Authority in the Bothnian Sea water district. We lead and coordinate work to achieve good water quality in the district's lakes, watercourses, coastal waters, and groundwater. At the Water Authority, the work is dynamic and development-oriented. The issues we work with span large parts of society.\nWe are now seeking a water coordinator for a temporary position covering a parental leave absence of approximately 12 months, with a start date by agreement.\nYour Responsibilities\nWe are looking for you to continue our work on developing a sub-basin management plan for the Ljusnan main water catchment area, which will be decided in December 2027. The work will include issues ranging from mapping and analysis of the water environment to planning strategies, measures, targets, and policy instruments for an improved water environment in the Ljusnan main water catchment area.\nYou will work closely with a project coordinator at the Ljusnan and H\u00e4lsingland Forest and Coastal Water Council and with staff at the county administrative boards in the catchment area. An important part of the work is to drive collaboration with county administrative boards, municipalities, regions, and others involved in the Ljusnan main water catchment area in developing the sub-basin management plan, and to conduct and follow up consultation on a proposed sub-basin management plan in spring 2027.\nYou will also collaborate with staff at other water authorities on matters related to work with sub-basin management plans.\nThe work involves some travel with overnight stays.\nYour Qualifications\nYour personal suitability for the position is important to us. In the recruitment process, we will therefore place great emphasis on your experience, knowledge, and qualities.\nEducation\nWe are looking for you to have higher academic education in one of the areas of social science, natural science, or engineering, or equivalent education deemed comparable.\nEducation in matters related to water and society's impact on the water environment is meritorious, as is education in GIS or other digital tools for managing and processing environment-related information.\nExperience and Expertise\nWork as a water coordinator spans many different subject areas and competencies. You should have experience working with society's impact on the environment and collaboration between different societal actors, and you need to have good knowledge of environmental issues in general.\nIt is meritorious if you also have experience from qualified investigations or project work within the environmental field, or from working with compilation, processing, and analysis of environment-related data or equivalent handling of large and complex information sets.\nIt is particularly meritorious if you have experience from water management or other work with water environment issues within government or municipal administration, and if you have experience leading complex or extensive projects or processes.\nLanguage and IT Skills\nYou need very good knowledge of the Swedish language, especially written, and you need to have good computer skills.\nPersonal Qualities\/Competencies\nThe position requires a good ability to see the big picture and to understand connections between environmental, planning, and societal development issues.
